About Jaipur – The Pink City

Jaipur is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II on 18 November, 1727. Jaipur and its surrounding areas boast of several magnificent forts and palaces such as Jaigarh fort, Amber fort, Nahargarh fort and City Palace. The observatory, Jantar Mantar, is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments and is a World Heritage Site. Jaipur is situated on The Golden Triangle circuit along with Agra and Delhi, and is extremely popular among both foreign and national tourists for its rich culture and heritage. It has a flourishing service sector, tourism industry and several important manufacturing units notably jewelry designing and manufacturing, diamond cutting and designing. Jaipur is famous as a large exporter of gold, diamond and stone jewelry in Asia.

Jaipur city is the nucleus of Education in Rajasthan. The city houses several premier universities, including university of Rajasthan, Indian Institute of Health Management and Research, The LNM Institute of Information and technology, Malviya National Institute of Technology, which offer degrees in humanities, commerce, science and technology.

Winter season (November to February) is usually pleasant for visiting Jaipur. During this period average temperatures range from 15–18 °C (59–64 °F), with little or no humidity. There are however occasional cold waves that lead to temperatures near freezing. Jaipur is well connected to other parts of the world, through vast network of airways, railways and roads.
